Curriculum Leader - Technology, Pathways Project Lead Educator

Cassandra Thorne is a highly experienced educator and curriculum leader with over 33 years of teaching experience and two decades leading Technologies, STEM, and career pathway initiatives. As Curriculum Leader – Technologies at Mt Maria College Petrie, she has driven major transformational projects, including ACARA V9 implementation, cross‑curricular STEM programs, industry partnerships with QUT, UniSC, and Manufacturing Skills Queensland, and the development of innovative design and engineering learning spaces.

Cassie also serves as Acting Leader of Careers and Pilot Lead Teacher for the BCE/Monash Pathways Project, supporting future‑focused senior schooling and student pathway design. A long‑standing contributor to QCAA, she is a Chief Confirmer, Lead Endorser, External Exam Writer, and experienced assessment leader in Design.

Known for her collaborative leadership and commitment to inspiring futures, Cassie strengthens school culture, teacher capability, and student engagement through innovation, partnerships, and purposeful curriculum design.
