Amanda von Kanel

Amanda von Kanel is an accomplished educational leader dedicated to cultivating meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families. As Director of Student Development at Canterbury College, she champions student leadership, community service initiatives, enterprise, and entrepreneurship, creating authentic opportunities for young people to build confidence, resilience, and real-world skills.

Amanda forges strong partnerships with the community, local businesses, and industry mentors, enabling students to launch and manage start-ups that have earned local, state, and national recognition. Through her work, she is passionate about empowering students to explore their potential while developing the transferable skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing future.

She leads a range of student-driven initiatives including major events, leadership workshops, development days and camps, peer mentoring programs, service learning projects, and the Years 9 and 10 Micro-Credentials Program, focused on preparing young people for future pathways and opportunities.
