Matthew Stein
Deputy Principal Curriculum
The Lakes College
Mathew has worked in education for 24 years and has been in both pastoral and academic leadership roles for most of that time. He is dedicated to enhancing the opportunities and outcomes for young people, building the professional capacity of staff he works alongside, and engaging fully and positively with the community of parents and carers that make up the fabric of a school. As Deputy Principal responsible for Curriculum, Professional Practice and Transformation at The Lakes College, Mathew works across the length and breadth of the school’s P-12 community to foster and develop students who engage in their learning with curiosity, forge a depth of character and experience a sense of connection. At the same time, he maintains a dedicated interest in the broader educational landscape; always having a journal article, a teaching and learning podcast and a decent book on the go. Mathew is married and, in order of appearance (not necessarily affection), has one cat, two daughters and six chickens.
